Laarri Art Centre

Laarri Art Centre is a small not-for-profit gallery and studio located in Yiyili Community. Artworks have an interesting contemporary-style. Artists create and produce original works on canvas and some artefacts such as didgeridoos and painted boab nuts. There is also merchandise for sale, such as bags, scarves and ties which feature local artists’ designs. The money raised from artwork sales goes directly back into the community, not only supporting the artists, but the community at large.

Our country has been Gooniyandi country since people first walked this land. Art lets us put down what we know and feel the land and our culture. Art is also a way of sharing our culture and country with the wider world. Laarri Art Centre is a Gooniyandi experience on Gooniyandi country.

Our artists are women and men from our Gooniyandi country which includes the communities of Yiyili, Ganinya, Girriyoowa, Goolgaradah, Rocky Springs, Kurinyjarn and Moongardie. Gooniyandi country and culture inspire our artists. Laarri Art Centre gives us the opportunity to record, reflect on and share our history, experience and knowledge of this country and our deep connection to this country.
