Margaret was born in Fitzroy Crossing and grew up in Go-Go Station, where her father Dudley (dec) helped maintain the sink and hoses for the cattle and horses. Her mother Judy (dec) was the cook and cared for the family of nine children. The family moved to Halls Creek and then to Yiyili Community when it was first established in 1982. Margaret is the sister of Norman Cox (dec), our most famous artist and used to be the chairperson of Yiyili Community but passed it on to Sister Jocelyn Cox. Margaret has a partner Leslie, five children and one adopted, and is now a great grandmother. She is also the board member of the school. She enjoys painting with acrylic on canvas and carving artefacts from the wood of the Coolaman Tree. Margaret is a very talented and enthusiastic artist of the Laarri Gallery and has over the years been instrumental with decisions in the community and Yiyili School.
