Laarri Art Centre

Rowena was born in 1991 on the way to Derby. She was educated in Yiyili Aboriginal Community School and lives in Gananyiya Community an outstation of Yiyili. Rowena has two children. Rowena grew up watching her mother (Barbara Cox) and big sister (Louise Cox) paint and is following in their footsteps in becoming a strong artist. She paints the dreamtime, her culture and country and the changing seasons around her. Her works are detailed expressions that harness the rhythm and textures of the landscape.
